Your blood naturally carries fats, which are necessary for energy and building cells. However, sometimes the balance of these fats—specifically types like triglycerides or certain cholesterol particles—becomes abnormal. When these levels fall into a rare or specific group that isn't classified as typical high cholesterol, doctors label it as 'Other hyperlipidemia.'
This condition primarily affects your blood vessels and the liver, which is the organ responsible for processing fats. It happens because your body might be producing too much of a specific fat or failing to break it down efficiently. While it usually doesn't cause pain, it changes how your blood flows through your body.
Common Symptoms
- Most people have no outward symptoms at all.
