Your humerus is the long bone that runs from your shoulder to your elbow. The surgical neck is a narrow section of this bone located right under the ball-shaped head of the shoulder joint.
A 2-part fracture means the bone has snapped into two distinct pieces at this specific location. This is a common injury because this area is often the weakest point of the upper arm bone.
Common Symptoms
- Intense, sharp pain in your shoulder that gets worse if you try to move your arm.
- Significant swelling around the shoulder area.
- Bruising that may spread down toward your chest or the inside of your arm.
